Jimmy Hall and Friends
Jimmy Hall and Friends
Jimmy Hall was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Mobile by a musical family steeped in gospel tradition.

Jimmy Hall, vocalist for Jeff Beck's 2014 US Tour co-headling with ZZ Top, is, according to Jeff Beck's Website, a Southern Boy With Lots of Soul. Jimmy is heading on tour with Jeff Beck again Spring of 2015 and will be touring with Hank Jr. in the Fall.

Jimmy Hall first gained notoriety as the front man for the band Wet Willie from Mobile, Alabama. His unique brand of R&B-infused rock and roll swagger propelled the group’s “Keep On Smilin’” into the Top 10 on the Billboard singles chart in 1974. After five albums with Marcon, Georgia's Capricorn Records, Wet Willie moved to the Epic label in 1977, carrying the singles “Street Corner Serenade” and “Weekend” to the Top 40. As a solo artist, Jimmy appeared in the Top 40 yet again with “I’m Happy That Love Has Found You” in 1980. He was nominated for a Best Male Vocalist Grammy for his work on Jeff Beck’s 1986 album, Flash. His songs have been recorded by Gregg Allman, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Johnny Russell, and others. Since the 1980s, Hall has been a vocalist, saxophonist, harmonica player and band leader with Hank Williams, Jr.
Tommy Talton

Six decades in, it’s clear that guitarist and songwriter Tommy Talton is still making music for the sheer joy of it. He manages to perform with both the energy of a music-obsessed kid and the restraint of a seasoned veteran – because, at heart, he is both.
He began his musical career in Central Florida and in 1966 was a founding member of a group called “We The People.”
The group had several top ten hits throughout Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Recording with RCA Victor Records, they gained much critical acclaim and are still considered to be in the top three of the most listened to and appreciated “garage band” genre groups of all time.
To this day they have re-releases of recordings from the ‘60’s with Sundazed Records from upstate New York, sales being reportedly steady.
In 1970, Tommy Talton, along with Scott Boyer, was a founding member of Capricorn Records group “Cowboy.”
From 1971 through 1977 Cowboy recorded 4 albums for Capricorn.
“Reach For The Sky,”
“5’ll Getcha Ten” and “Boyer and Talton: Cowboy” (1974) and “Cowboy” (1977).
Talton also recorded an album titled “Happy To Be Alive/ Talton, Sandlin and Stewart” with producer Johnny Sandlin (Allman Bros., Delbert McClinton). Essentially, it being a solo effort with all but one song being written and sung by Talton.
While in Macon, Ga. through most of the 70’s, Tommy was a studio musician recording with artists such as Billy Joe Shaver, Bonnie Bramlett, Martin Mull, Corky Lang (West, Bruce and Lang/ Mountain), Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Clarence Carter, country music legend Kitty Wells, Alex and Livingston Taylor, Arthur Conley of Sweet Soul Music fame, Johnny Rivers, and more.
He toured extensively throughout the U.S. with Cowboy and with Gregg Allman’s “Laid Back Tour” as Gregg’s ‘Special Guests’ from Carnegie Hall to Fillmore West in San Francisco and most cities in between. Tommy was also the guitarist on Gregg Allman’s certified Gold “Laid Back” studio album.
Throughout the ‘90’s, Tommy lived and toured in Europe and formed a group there called “The Rebelizers” with members of Albert Lee’s band, Hogan’s Heroes.
Also at that time, he was guitarist on a Belgian television program, “Sommer Kuren” (“Cures Summer,” translated,1997) and played with numerous European musicians such as Toots Thielemans (jazz harmonica) while gigging in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Spain.
In 2005, after returning to the States, Talton formed “The Tommy Talton Band.”
He connected with Southern Music and Allman Brothers Band (news) magazine, “HittinTheNote.”
Currently Tommy has 4 releases of all original songs on “HittinTheNote Records,”

Tommy will begin recording a fifth album of all original songs in Oct. of 2015 for a release date sometime in the Spring of 2016.
He continues to tour the Southeast of the USA, with occasional visits to Chicago, New York and Europe, as a soloist and with a full band of 3 to 6 pieces.

Deep in South Central Kentucky, roots music is alive and well through native musicians, who are still testifying to the brothers and sisters all around the world. OTIS reigns from Sulphur Well, Kentucky, an area that got its name from a artesian well that was discovered in the 1800’s, and drew people from all around who believed the water had a special healing power. Just as the waters from the artesian well was believed to heal, the local music has a special mojo and healing power of it's own. As an old saying goes amongst natives in the area, when Kentucky heritage music is talked about, “There is something in the water around here.” Kentucky is well known for Bluegrass and Mountain Folk Music, Country Music, Jugband Music, and a heavy influence of Blues. Kentucky, being located between the Delta Blues of Mississippi and the Electric Blues of Chicago, has a special blend of Blues of it's own, courtesy of Merle Travis, Ike Everly, Mose Ragar, John Brim, Sylvester Weaver and the Father of Bluegrass Music, Bill Monroe. Otis has taken in a steady diet of Kentucky roots music, primarily Blues, and cooked up their own special Musical Burgoo. Drawing from the raw electric blues sounds of Muddy Waters and King of Slide guitar, Elmore James, following a heavy influence of Southern roots sounds, courtesy of the Allman Brothers and Wet Willie, vastly sums up who Otis are musically and gives a glimpse into the sound and soul of the four-piece band.
The members of Otis consist of Boone Froggett vocals/guitar, Steve Jewell guitar/backing vocals, John Seeley bass/lead bass, and Andrew Gilpin drums/percussion. All the members of Otis share the same vision of writing and creating organic tasteful music while taking their audience to church by hitting on all emotions. If a stage filled of vintage music gear and Kentucky roots music is something you enjoy, then it's time to drink from the healing waters of Otis.
Otis has recently finished a 10 song album that their looking to put out, tentatively titled "Tribute To John Brim," produced by Greg Martin (Kentucky HeadHunters, Rufus Huff), Dean Smith (Supa Fuzz, Taildragger, Rufus Huff) and David Barrick. All 10 songs were written by the late great Kentucky Bluesman, John Brim. Brim left a Chicago Blues legacy via his recordings for the Random, J.O.B, Parrot, Chess and Checker labels. Van Halen brought John Brim prominence through their recording of "Ice Cream Man," written by Brim in 1953. 'Tribute To John Brim" features cameo performances by Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie on Harmonica and Kentucky Greg Martin on Guitar. The CD is slated to be released in the upcoming months.
Get ready for church brothers and sisters, the Otis electric Rock N' Blues revival is coming to a town near you soon!...
